LAHORE, Sept 4: Unicef Punjab chief Dr Deepak Bhattacharya said on Sunday that the daily lesson planning prepared by the donor coordination wing of the education department will be introduced at 150 child-friendly schools of the body.

He was speaking at a meeting which was also attended by chief minister’s adviser on education Ms Sadia Shahzad Chaudhry and senior officials of the department and Unicef.

He said the lesson planning was a practical step towards the provision of quality education to students of government schools. A team of educationists led by Ms Chaudhry had done a commendable job for the uplift of the education system, he added.

Uunicef had decided to introduce this plan at 150 schools adopted by it in six districts of the province, including Sheikhupura, Mianwali, Rahim Yar Khan, Kasur, Sargodha and Rajanpur.

Ms Chaudhry said the introduction of the lesson planning would help teachers perform their duty in accordance with the present day needs.

Proper lesson planning would be helpful in reducing the frustration of teachers in classrooms and broaden their vision regarding the subjects. The introduction of educational calendar and manual was a step towards the daily lesson planning, she said.
