SHC disposes of petition against 20pc cut in school tuition

The Sindh High court vacated a stay order and disposed of a petition against the 20 per cent concession in school tuition after provincial authorities said that a fresh notification has been issued in this regard.

Additional Advocate General Sindh Ghulam Shabbir Shah said that the Sindh Private Educational Institutions (Regulations & Control) Rules 2005 have been amended to empower the Directorate of Inspection/Registration of Private Institutions to issue a special order in extraordinary circumstances.

Therefore, the director general of the Directorate of Inspection/Registration of Private Institutions has issued a special order on April 28 regarding the 20 per cent mandatory concession tuition for the months of April and May for private schools.

He contended that the special order has superseded the earlier notification issued on April 1 which was challenged by the petitioners, adding that the petition has now become void.
