NOWSHERA, Jan 17: Awami National Party has launched efforts to woo some of its disgruntled leaders back into the fold before the general elections later this year.
Azam Khan Hoti, an ANP leader and former federal minister, who has recently been released on bail, is behind the moves to win back colleagues who had either left the party or had been keeping a low profile for one reason or the other.
Mr Hoti’s efforts have yielded when a former provincial minister, Wali Mohammad Khan, who had formed his own ANP Workers Ittehad after developing differences with the leaders, decided to join the party again.
Attempts are also being made to win over leaders of other political parties to strengthen the ANP in the district.
