MUZAFFARABAD, Jan 17: AJK Development Working Party (DWP) in a meeting on Thursday approved Rs551.4 million uplift plans in the health, education, power, communications, physical planning and housing sectors.
Secretary Development Sardar Abdur Rasheed Khan presided over the meeting.
It earmarked Rs38.6 million for malaria control programme in Bhimbher District, Rs14.6 million for building a stadium in prime minister’s hometown Nakyal in Kotli District.
The meeting also okayed Rs24 million to construct 25 primary school buildings; Rs5 million to purchase laboratory equipment for 50 colleges; Rs700,000 for preliminary education of children; Rs19.2 million to set up the Kashmir Education Assessment Centre and Rs6.5 million to build examination hall in the Government Postgraduate College, Muzaffarabad.
A sum of Rs10m was allocated for the police, Rs6.8m for meeting any emergency situation, Rs19m for constructing additional accommodation facilities in the High Court building and Rs 59.7m for upgrading Tariqabad Bypass in the capital.
