Pakistan urged greater coordination among South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation (Saarc) member states to combat the coronavirus pandemic.

According to a statement from the Foreign Office, Pakistan — which organised the conference of health ministers from Saarc countries proposed the "activation of the Saarc Technical Committee on Health and Population Activities" to increase coordination.

The health ministers discussed their country situations and issues such as "real-time sharing of information and clinical data, capacity building and training of medical and paramedical staff".
