The Punjab government has promulgated an ordinance regarding concession in school fees amid the coronavirus pandemic.

The Punjab Private Educational Institutions (Promotion and Maintenance) Amendment Ordinance, 2020 will empower the registering authority to issue "special directives" regarding closure of schools and alternative means of imparting education to students during the lockdown. It also empowers the authority to determine the fee that schools can charge during the time the ordinance is in effect.
