Decision to allow congregational prayers 'wrong' and shows 'non-seriousness': PMA official

Dr Qaiser Sajjad, secretary general of the Pakistan Medical Association, has said the government and ulema have shown "non-seriousness" in taking the "wrong" decision of allowing congregational prayers in mosques.

He noted that Prime Minister Imran Khan had said that the mosques not following the 20 SOPs announced by the government for prayers would be closed, but cautioned that: "It will have been too late by then."

He urged the ulema to take back the decision and asked the government to close all stores and shops.
