LAHORE, Sept 2: Fine innings by Test opener Salman Butt and valiant knock by captain Hasan Raza, despite a head injury, steered PCB Greens to 314 all out in a practice match against PCB Whites at the Qadhafi Stadium on Friday The match is being played to select Pakistan “A” team for the home series against Australia “A”.

By the close of play, PCB Whites were 52 for one in nine overs, losing opener Imran Farhat.

Salman hit a fine 94-ball 74 with the help of 11 fours and two sixes.

Hasan, who was forced to leave the crease when a delivery from speedster Muhammad Irshad struck his head and he fell unconscious and was rushed to a nearby hospital.

He returned and struck a breezy 72-ball 63, laced with 10 boundaries.

Irshad was the main wicket-taker among seven bowlers tried by the Whites’ skipper Misbahul Haq. Irshad finished with four for 77 in 13 overs.

Test pacer but under cloud over his suspect action, medium-pacer Shabbir Ahmed went wicketless.
