MARDAN, Sept 2: The Pakistan People’s Party (Sherpao) announced its candidates for nazims of the Mardan district and Mardan tehsil councils at a meeting of the party on Friday.

The meeting also decided that the decision about the slots of tehsil naib nazims and nazim of Takhtbhai tehsil council would be made later.

The meeting was attended by the president, People’s Lawyers Forum (PLF), Iqbal Khan Hoti, district president Shaukat Khan and provincial information secretary Syed Kamal Shah.

The PPP(S)-backed Tarraqi Pasand group claimed that it had won seven panels of nazims and more than 100 councillors’ seats in the two tehsils.

The meeting reviewed the post-election situation in the district and announced candidates for the district and Mardan tehsil nazims’ slots.
