The International Monetary Fund (IMF) has clarified that the $1.4 billion it has approved for Pakistan to help it address the economic impact of the Covid-19 crisis is additional to the $6 billion Extended Fund Facility (EFF) that was approved for the country last year.

"The EFF remains in place. Staff & authorities continue to work closely to bring the second review to the IMF Board as soon as possible," it said in a tweet.
