KARACHI, Sept 2: Sindh chief of the Pakistan People’s Party Syed Qaim Ali Shah said on Friday that nothing less than scrapping of the whole ‘sham’ local body election would be acceptable to people and all democratic and liberal forces of the country would unite to launch a decisive movement against the regime.

In a statement issued by PPP’s media cell at the Bilawal House, Mr Shah condemned Chief Minister Dr Arbab Ghulam Rahim’s remarks against Asif Ali Zardari and said that the threats being hurled by the chief minister to fill the jails with PPP workers would not demoralize party workers, who had waged a struggle against the military dictatorships. This time also the masses would emerge victorious in their struggle for democracy, he said.

Mr Shah accused the chief minister and his family of indulging in corruption, and said that people would not spare him for ‘treachery’ and his act of usurping people’s right in the ‘manipulated’ local body election.
