Face masks made mandatory

KARACHI: The Sindh government on Friday made wearing of face mask mandatory for all persons who come out of their homes as part of its efforts to halt the spread of Covid-19.

“Face masks are mandatory for all people who come out of the houses for a valid reason or are exempted during the lockdown,” says a notification issued by Karachi Commissioner Iftikhar Shallwani.

Besides, sanitizing and cleaning hands after every activity and whenever necessary shall be strictly ensured.

“Every employee/worker shall be examined before entering into the work place and if symptoms of flu, cough or fever are found, he/she may be referred to the hospital immediately.”

Moreover, business/workplace shall be hygienically cleaned and disinfected frequently with disinfectant, says the handout.

The order also said that restaurants shall be opened only for home delivery from 8am to 5pm. Tandoors and bakeries have also been allowed to open observing the same timings.

The deputy commissioners were directed to deal with any violation strictly under the relevant laws.
