Remdesivir, an anti-viral drug by Gilead Sciences, has shown positive results in its initial clinical trials, raising hopes for a medicine to treat the novel coronavirus.
The medicine is being tested on 125 patients, out of which 113 were experiencing severe symptoms, admitted in a Chicago hospital. Almost all the patients have been discharged while two have succumbed to the disease.
The results are encouraging but the medicine has so far been tested on a small number of people.
