Planning Minister Asad Umar has said if someone was advocating that the impoverished people do not lose their income because of the lockdown, it did not mean they wanted citizens to die from the virus.

Similarly, he said, those who were in favour of a complete lockdown did not wish for poor people to die from hunger.

"This is a difficult situation," Umar said.
