Sindh CM advises Centre to ban export of food crops
Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah has advised the federal government to slap a ban on exporting food crops like wheat, rice and pulses in order to avoid a shortage in the coming months or next year.
During a meeting of the National Coordination Committee, Shah said that the wheat that is being harvested now maybe in surplus but "local requirement of the current year and of the next crop year must be addressed before taking any decision”.
“We have to rely on our own resources at this critical time and have to ensure or food security,” he said.
