PESHAWAR, Jan 17: The lack of coordination on the part of provincial government and federal interior ministry has put the National Database and Registration Authority (Nadra) in an awkward position in running its national computerized Identity Cards campaign in the Federally Administered Tribal Areas.
“The matter is very serious, because the authority has no offices and staff in the seven tribal agencies,” said regional director Nadra, Brigadier (retd) Muhammad Anwar Khan, while addressing a press conference after attending the computerized identity cards distribution ceremony here on Thursday.
He said he discussed the matter with the provincial governor and the interior ministry many times to establish offices in tribal agencies to properly initiate the computerized identity cards campaign in the area, but no action had been taken so far.
He said, the authority sends its mobile teams to the area to distribute and collect forms.
