President Arif Alvi has expressed "deep sorrow" over the death of Dr Abdul Qadir Soomro who passed away from Covid-19.

According to Radio Pakistan, the president lauded the late doctor's contributions to the fight against the coronavirus pandemic.

He further said the nation is proud of its doctors and nurses who are combatting the Covid-19 pandemic and called them the "true heroes of the country".
