The Pakistan Psychiatric Society has called upon the government to take measures in order to protect prisoners, who are suffering from mental illnesses, from the Covid-19 disease.

In a press release, the body argued that mentally ill prisoners are more vulnerable to the virus as they may have underlying diseases or might experience difficulties in taking precautionary measures or communicating their symptoms in case they have contracted Covid-19.
