The Council of Islamic Ideology (CII) has stressed that the coronavirus should not be associated with any religious group or sect.

In a statement, its chairman said the spread of Covid-19 has nothing to do with any religious group, including Umrah pilgrims, pilgrims to holy sites or members of the Tableeghi Jamaat.
