The Council of Islamic Ideology (CII) will hold an emergency video conference today to discuss how prayer congregations can be restricted.

Social distancing and the religious way to bury a person who passed away after contracting Covid-19 will also be discussed during the meeting.

For safety reasons, unrelated people will not be allowed to enter the office.

CII chief Dr Qibla Ayaz is expected to hold a press conference at 6pm, the body's spokesperson added.
