A video has been making rounds on social media showing thousands of people rushing to collect ration in Karachi.

According to Sindh police officials and witnesses, an estimated 7,000 to 8,000 people affected by the lockdown in Sindh gathered on National Highway near Quaidabad today in the morning to collect rations being distributed by Saylani Welfare Trust.

However, the non-profit organisation only had enough to distribute rations among an estimated 2,500-3,000 people.

According to police, people who did not receive the rations stayed there for around half an hour before dispersing peacefully.
