India cracks down on Tableeghi Jamaat linked to coronavirus cases
Indian authorities have sealed off the headquarters of a Tableeghi Jamaat and ordered an investigation into accusations it held religious meetings that officials fear may have infected dozens of people with the coronavirus, Reuters reported.
Authorities said people kept visiting the group's centre, in a five-storey building in a neighbourhood of narrow, winding lanes, from other parts of the country, where prayer meetings were held, despite government orders on social distancing.
