LAHORE, Aug 27: The half-bred seven-year-old chestnut gelding, Lucky Murad, with three impressive victories and a second on the trot, will be going all out to win the feature event when the Lahore Summer Meeting gets under way at the Racecourse on Sunday.
Contesting in the fifth race in a card of as many events, the son of Dazzler, Lucky Murad had won three races in a row during the current season on July 17, July 23 and July 31.
He was beaten by Millennium Count on Aug 14 in the Dancom Azadi cup over 1200m carrying a top weight of nine stones two pounds in the handicap.
He has been promoted to a division higher but with a reverse handicap in weight scale at seven stones thirteen pounds, the gelding looks in a good shape and chance.
Six-year-old bay horse, Pomche, who has come a long way down in the handicap, Running Star and High Dream are the other chance horses, but none on the current form and performance, which is hopeless, considering their recent outings.
The red-roan filly, Key Guy Doll, a daughter of English sire Key Guy out-of-Vitesse, Key Guy Doll ran a good race on July 24 last which makes her a favourite and a good proposition to win the race.
She was beaten to second place by King Maker after a hard battle that day.
Now she is appearing in a less competitive race and should make amends this time by installing herself in the winner’s box, in this fourth race of the card.
On On and Green Hill should fight for the second slot.
Sound Master, Savera, Jago, All At Sea and Over Trick are the chance animals in the third race. On form Savera looks better but Over Trick is in a position to play the trick well.
A card of only five races has been drawn for the afternoon programme.
The first two races will be gone over the sprinting distance of 1000m while the remaining three are to be run over 1200m.
The first race will be held at 2.30pm.
