ISLAMABAD, Aug 27: President Gen Pervez Musharraf on Saturday promulgated the Federal Public Service Commission (Amendment) Ordinance, 2005, stating that a member of the commission after completing a three-year term would not be re-appointed.
The notification said that the member, who usually was a retired judge of the Supreme Court or a high court, would hold the office for a three-year term within five years after his retirement from the judiciary.
Similarly, the member of the commission would hold the office for three years from the date of joining or till the time he reached the age of 65 years.
It said the member would cease to be a member after the promulgation of the ordinance, the moment he completed his tenure or attained upper age-limit specified in the ordinance despite the presence of any contract, agreement or instrument containing terms and conditions of service.
