HYDERABAD, Aug 27: The Sindh University Academic Council has approved a four-year bachelors degree programme from 2006 in eleven institutes and departments of the faculty of social sciences.
The proposal was approved by the university vice chancellor, Mazhar-ul-Haq Siddiqui, here on Saturday in 30th meeting of the council.
The meeting was attended by professors emeritus, deans of faculties, heads of departments and senior professors of the institutes and departments.
The course-work and syllabi for all disciplines of the social sciences faculty was finalized including the department of economics, general history, health and physical education, international relations, mass communications, political science, psychology, public management sciences, social work, sociology and rural development.
Some new subjects, like computer skills, human biology, general sciences, environmental sciences, geography, would also be taught according to the new syllabus.
Dr N.A. Baloch was nominated, in the meeting, to head a committee for evaluation of the faculty members by the students.
