LAHORE: PML-N MNA Mian Javed Latif on Friday appeared before the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) and recorded his statement in the assets beyond means case.

Talking to reporters after his appearance before NAB, Mr Latif said the PML-N would take the NAB’s matters to the standing committee of the National Assembly.

He said the Anti-Corruption Establishment had already given him clean chit and he had appeared before the NAB in 2003 as well.

Latif said the PML-N wanted mid-term polls and Nawaz Sharif would be the party’s candidate for the prime minister slot.

Mr Latif is accused of making assets worth billions of rupees in the name of his family members.

The NAB Lahore had constituted a combined investigation team (CIT) to probe the matter.

Mr Latif and his brothers had earlier appeared before the NAB and responded to its queries, denying corruption allegations.

Javed Latif, an MNA from Sheikhupura district, faces charges of making assets in the name of his family members after coming into politics.
