KARACHI: A housewife was brutally murdered in Pathan Colony, Manghopir in the small hours of yesterday [March 7]. The deceased woman was identified as Laiqa Bibi; her body has been sent for post-mortem examination.
Police said they have detained her husband for questioning. Neighbours are also being questioned. Police said the husband of the deceased woman came out of his house and informed some of his neighbours to call her relatives living nearby because Laiqa Bibi had suffered a shock of thunderstorm.
But in the morning neighbours found blood oozing out of her body and also found three or four cartridges (empty). Police are ascertaining the circumstances of the murder and trying to fix up who could murder — her husband or someone else?
[Meanwhile, as reported by an agency in Rawalpindi,] Tariq Ali and a breakaway group of five from the “Black Dwarf” editorial board are setting up their own revolutionary newspaper to be called “Red Mole”, reported “The Times” London. The title is hooked to a quote from Karl Marx “We recognise our old friends, our old mole, who knows so well how to work underground, suddenly to appear — revolution...”
