East Asian student targetted in 'racially aggravated assault' in London

A Singaporean man of Chinese ethnicity suffered facial injuries in a "racially aggravated assault" in London, CNN reported.

In a Facebook post, 23-year-old Jonathan Mok, who is studying in London, said he was attacked by a group of people on Oxford Street.

"The guy who tried to kick me then said, 'I don't want your coronavirus in my country', before swinging another sucker punch at me, which resulted in my face exploding with blood (from my nose)," Mok was quoted by CNN.

According to the report, London's Metropolitan Police confirmed that they were investigating the "racially aggravated assault".
