The Washington Post discussed three possible scenarios of how the coronavirus epidemic will end based on other such outbreaks.

The three scenarios are:

• Health officials control the virus via strict public health measures
• Virus hits less developed countries; things get worse before getting better
• It spreads so widely that it becomes a fact of life

The report added that there would be a few other factors that could impact how the virus plays out.
