LAHORE, Aug 24: Chief Minister Pervaiz Elahi directed on Wednesday all DPOs to ensure effective implementation of a ban on processions in all districts. The ban is imposed under Section 144 and the chief minister directed the DPOs to ensure that no-one takes out a procession to celebrate victory. Stern action should be taken against those found violating the ban on processions.

He said the entire code of conduct by the election commission should be followed in letter and spirit. All DCOs and DPOs should fully implement all decisions taken to ensure free, fair and transparent local elections in the province, he said.
