Digital complex to be set up in Peshawar

PESHAWAR: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Information Technology Board and Pakistan Council of Scientific and Industrial Research signed a joint venture agreement on Thursday for setting up a digital complex in Peshawar.

A statement issued here said the complex would comprise of information technology and science parks, incubation and co-working facilities, data centre, business process outsourcing ready facilities, IT companies, display centres, auditorium and related facilities.

Chief Minister Mahmood Khan and Federal Minister for Science and Technology Fawad Chaudhry witnessed signing of the agreement.

The chief minister said on this occasion that the initiative was a landmark achievement towards realising the digital Pakistan vision of Prime Minister Imran Khan. He said that the digital complex would not only attract provincial, national and international IT sector investors, but also provide the youth of the province with employment opportunities.

He said that the incumbent government wanted to accelerate the digital transformation of the province.

In a separate event, Mahmood Khan inaugurated the chief minister complaint cell at the CM Secretariat having a universal landline number of 1800 through which people of the province would be able to register complaints.
