LAHORE: The Lahore Arts Council (LAC) will hold many cultural events featuring both seasoned and emerging artistes in the coming days.

The council will celebrate ‘Air Force Surprise Day’ by putting on display an exhibition of paintings at the Alhamra Art Centre on Feb 27 -- the day the PAF conducted surprise airstrikes at multiple locations in India-Administered Jammu and Kashmir (J&K). A play Hum Say Na Takraana will also be staged and a walk would be held to celebrate the day.

A number of visitors and artistes are expected to attend the events.

On Feb 29, a tribute will be paid to dancer Indu Mitha, a Pakistani exponent of Bharatnatyam and one of the two in the country (the other being Sheema Kirmani). It will be a great classical dance evening in which Tehreema Mitha and another artiste would perform.

On March 4, an evening will be held with renowned singer Farida Khanum. Bilal Sufi will be in conversation with Farida Khanum and talk about her career. Ali Sethi is expected to perform on the occasion.

On 7th, a music evening will be organised in which two UK-based Pakistan musicians will perform and a local musician, Baqir Hussain, will play flute.
