MIANWALI, Aug 23: A week prior to polling, the district administration is impounding public transport vehicles with the help of traffic police to provide transportation facility to poling staff on the election day.

Hundreds of people, including women, children, patients, old people, office employees and daily wagers coming from suburban areas, had to face hardship for the fourth consecutive day as majority of public transport is impounded and traffic is very thin on roads except vehicles of candidates.

The people were seen stranded at bus stands in the hot and humid weather. The affected people are criticizing the government for impounding transport and creating trouble for the masses.

Meanwhile, taking advantage of the situation, the drivers of rickshaws, tractor-trolleys and trucks charge high fare from the stranded passengers. — Correspondent
