Traders flay lawlessness in Gambat

SUKKUR, Aug 23: Lawlessness, robberies and other criminal activities are on the rise in Gambat, badly affecting traders of the town. This was stated by office-bearers of the Sarafa Union Resham Street Gambat while speaking at a press conference at the Sukkur press club on Tuesday.

They said six armed men had looted gold of Rs2.5 million from the shop of Sikandar Ali Shaikh in the Resham Street on Sunday. They said on resistance the armed men opened fire, injuring a passer-by, Irfan Soomro.

They said after the incident residents and traders observed a shutter-down strike on Monday against the police which according to them had failed to provide protection to the people.
