KARACHI: Work on first post mall begins

KARACHI, Aug 23: With the advancement in technology the world over, the postal system in the country has also made headway. This was stated by the Governor, Dr Ishratul Ibad Khan, while addressing the foundation stone laying ceremony of the first post mall in Hyderi on Monday night.

He said it was his desire that such post malls should be set up in all 18 town of the city.

In this respect, the Sindh government was ready to extend all-out assistance, Ibad added.

He pointed out that the peaceful conduct of the first phase of local government elections had proved that the government of Sindh had controlled the law and order situation.

The Federal Communications Minister, Mohammad Shamim Siddiqui, on the occasion said that initially four to five post malls would be constructed in the city.

He said facilities such as e-commerce, money transfer, internet, etc would be made available at these post malls.

He said for bringing about further improvements, a motorcycle scheme for the concerned officials of the Pakistan Post was also being introduced.—APP
