HARIPUR, Aug 22: Three armed bandits deprived passengers and drivers of valuables worth thousands of rupees on the Hattar Industrial Estate road in the jurisdiction of Kotnajibullah police station here on Sunday evening.

Kotnajibullah police quoted Shahid Ahmad, a resident of district Mardan, as saying that he was on the way to Hattar Estate via Tubewell Hattar road near Tareen Abad when at 8.pm three masked men armed with Klashinkoves stopped his vehicle and snatched Rs4,000 and a cell phone from him at gun point.

Independent sources have confirmed that 12 bandits blocked the road for over two hours and deprived the drivers and passengers of an oil tanker, trucks and motorists of cash, mobile phones, gold rings and other valuables worth Rs200,000 but the police have confirmed robbery of only Rs4,000.
