QUETTA: Chief Minister Balochistan Jam Kamal Khan, at a meeting with Federal Minister for Planning and Development Asad Umar, discussed implementation of the projects initiated under the China Pakistan Economic Corridor in Balochistan and pace of work on other projects being executed in the province under the federal Public Sector Development Programme.

Jam Kamal held the meeting with the minister at Balochistan House in Islamabad on Wednesday.

The CM said that all available resources were being utilised to develop Balochistan while economic policies were being unveiled to boost the provincial economy. He said that the previous governments’ flawed policies had intensified Balochistan’s deprivation and problems.

The chief minister stressed on implementation of the PSDP projects for Balochistan and also sought the federal government’s assistance in expansion of Quetta-Karachi highway and Quetta-Zhob duel carriageway.

Lauding the performance of the Balochistan government, Asad Umar highlighted the prime minister’s vision for the province and said Pakistan’s future depended on the province.

“The federal government would continue supporting the Balochistan government in carrying out development activities and providing facilities to the people,” the federal minster assured the CM. He said a strong mechanism was being put in place to review and monitor the federal government’s development schemes in the province.
