Pindi corps commander visits CGH
RAWALPINDI: Corps Commander Lt Gen Azhar Abbas visited the Cantonment General Hospital (CGH) on Friday to inspect renovation work and expressed his satisfaction.
Accompanied by Military Lands and Cantonments Director General Maj Gen Syed Hasnat Amir Gilani, the corps commander inspected operation theatres, C.T. Scan centre, labour room and other facilities in the hospital.
He was informed that C.T. Scan and new X-ray machines had been installed and training imparted to the staff. During the last fiscal year 2018-19, the civic body completed some construction work and recruited staff. The latest equipment was installed in the last two months.
The RCB officials said a modern operation theatre had been constructed for the first time in the hospital which would be made functional by the end of next month.
Under the project, he said the hospital was upgraded to 500 beds and 14 departments were introduced including medicines, ear, nose and throat (ENT), gynae, cardiology and emergency department.
A total of six ambulances were procured and RCB purchased two special ambulances which are being used as mini dispensaries to give first aid to critical patients.Lt Gen Azhar Abbas appreciated the efforts of Military Lands and Cantonment Director Faheem Zafar Khan, RCB Cantonment Executive Officer Sibtain Raza and their team in upgrading the hospital within a short period of time.
