LONDON, Aug 19: European stock markets closed higher on Friday, with the London FTSE 100 index gaining 0.82 per cent at 5,312.60 points. In Frankfurt, the DAX 30 shot up 1.62pc to 4,929.91, while in Paris the CAC 40 climbed 1.31 per cent to 4,487.90.—AFP
