ISLAMABAD, Aug 11: The Pakistan squash, taekwondo and badminton federations on Thursday announced their teams which will take part in next month’s Islamic Women’s Games in Tehran.
The national athletes will compete in 11 disciplines at the Sept 22-28 Games which are athletics, badminton, golf, judo, karate, rifle shooting, swimming, squash, table tennis, taekwondo and tennis.
The Pakistani contingent is scheduled to leave on Sept 21 and return home on the 29th.
SQUASH: Maria Toor Pakay, Muqaddas Ashraf, Bushra Haider (manager). Misbah Rani (standby).
TAEKWONDO: Kiran Bano, Waqas-un-Nisa, Samia, Asma Zareen. Nafeesa Begum (manager/coach).
BADMINTON: Ayesha Akram, Asma Butt, Uzma Butt, Farzana Saleem, Saima Manzoor, Sara Khan, Palwasha Bashir, Aiman Khan. Sayeda Nousheen Ejaz Zaidi (manager).
SHOOTING: Nazish Khan, Nadia Saeed, Habira Yaqoob (Rifle) Capt. Farhat Nasreen, Azra Nazeer and Mehwish Maqsood (Pistol).
Standbys: Hajra Nasreen, Urooj Fatima and Nausheen Khan.
Officials: Lt. Cdr. Karamatur Rehman (manager) and Ghazanfar Abbas (referee).
