PESHAWAR, Aug 10: The NWFP Minister for Law and Parliamentary Affairs Malik Zafar Azam has said that the verdict of the federal government regarding deportation of foreign students of religious institutions was unconstitutional and unlawful and the MMA government reserves the right to proceed to the court against the decision.

This he said while talking to a three-member delegation of the US State Department that called on him at the Civil Secretariat Peshawar on Wednesday.

Replying to a question of the delegation, Zafar Azam said the MMA government “honours the decision of the apex court” about the Hasba bill. He, however, said that the bill will be re-examined after having the details of the decision and implemented at all cost in the province, said an official handout issued here on Wednesday.

About registration of madressahs, the minister said that so far 300 religious institutions had been registered in the province while 400 more would be enrolled soon.
