US denies joint air exercises in Kashmir

WASHINGTON, Aug 8: The US State Department denied on Monday that the United States and India were conducing joint air exercises in occupied Kashmir. “We have no knowledge of such an air exercise and believe the report to be untrue,” a State Department official told Dawn. The Indian media, quoting Air Chief S.P. Tyagi, reported earlier Monday that New Delhi was going to hold joint air exercises with the US air force in occupied Kashmir in November. Similar joint exercises will also be held with the British Royal Air Force early next year, the report said.
