O-Level Islamic Studies book banned

LAHORE: Punjab Curriculum and Textbook Board (PCTB) on Tuesday banned O-Level Islamic Studies book written by Yasmin Malik for containing “objectionable material”.

The directions were issued to all the chief executive officers (CEOs) of the district education authorities of the province.

The CEOs were directed to hold meetings with heads of private as well as public schools where the book was prescribed for the students. They have been asked to submit reports in this regard in the next meeting of the board to be held on Wednesday (today).

The authorities had imposed a ban on the book after finding “objectionable material” from page 210 to 220 of the book.
