PESHAWAR, Aug 3: The city intermediate board has yet to announce results of FSc, but the NWFP University of Engineering and Technology, Peshawar, has stopped issuing applications for the entry test scheduled for Aug 21. The board of intermediate and secondary education (Bise), Peshawar, had set July 30, 2005, to announce the results, but the date rescheduled for Aug 10, board officials said.
This delay has deprived the aspirants awaiting results of an attempt to take admission in the public sector engineering university. University officials said this was the first time that the administration had stopped issuing application forms before the intermediate examination results.
The officials said the director admission had scheduled a meeting with Vice-Chancellor Imtiaz Gilani to persuade him into extending the date for submission of applications.
An official of the NWFP Education Testing and Evaluation Authority, when contacted, said the university administration had prepared the test schedule and “we cannot influence them to revise it or extend the date for submission of applications,” he said.
Sources said different quarters had showed concern over the decision of the administration, saying that every student had the right to avail the chance.
