SARGODHA July 31: The PTCL employees union will not resist the take-over by Etisalat at Faisalabad and Sargodha telecom regions. This was said by PTCL employees deputy chief organiser Malik Zafar Iqbal while talking to the press here on Sunday afternoon.
He said the action committee had lost its credibility and workers would not go on strike here upon the committee’s call.
Mr Iqbal claimed that he had taken into confidence all office-bearers of various employees unions and they had unanimously agreed that they would not accept any suggestion or proposal of the action committee which was allegedly working against workers interests.
He said accountability of leaders of all nine PTCL unions must be conducted.
On a question, he hoped that the UAE-based company would provide better facilities to subscribers and eradicate the corrupt culture of PTCL prevalent since long.
He also demanded an end to the monopoly of certain union leaders who were blackmailing the PTCL highup by threatening them with strike.
He said now the workers had realized the situation and they would not respond to any strike call.
