NOWSHERA, Jan 14: Two people were arrested on the charge of sedition on Sunday.

Accused Faqir Gul had been carrying a banner inscribed with some demands. He was staging a sit-in in front of a shop on the Cavalry Road owned by the other accused, Shakir Khan.

The banner was inscribed with these demands: “forthwith enforce Shariat in the country”, “serve spiritual leaders”, and “attack India”.

An FIR has been registered at the Nowshera cantonment police station under section 124-A of the Pakistan Penal Code. The accused said that time was ripe to attack India as it would help Pakistan to extend its rule to Sri Lanka, Burma and other countries.
