Jugnu Mohsin’s native house ransacked by political rival

OKARA: A case has been registered against 11 people, including two nominated, for an alleged attempt to get unlawful possession of a house owned by MPA Jugnu Mohsin in Shergarh town.

According to the FIR lodged by Jugnu Mohsin’s attorney Muhammad Mushtaq, accused Mustafa Mehdi Mohsin, stated to be a nephew and political rival of the legislator, along with Irfan and nine unidentified armed accomplices stormed into the native house of Jugnu in Shergarh and ransacked it.

When the intruders tried to burn the house, two servants of the MPA put up resistance. The accused held them hostage and injured one of them. They also resorted to aerial firing. Some people from the neighbourhood gathered there and on their request the the accused freed the two servants.

Shergarh police registered the case under sections 447, 511, 342, 337H(2),148 and 149 of the PPC.

A local close to the Jugnu family said Mustafa Mehdi Mohsin had been arrested. He said four of the unknown accused had also been identified.

Wife of journalist Najam Sethi, Jugnu was elected to the Punjab Assembly as an independent candidate during the last year general election from her native area.
