Case against four over children’s drowning

FAISALABAD: Police on Saturday registered an accidental murder case against four people including two brick kiln owners a day after four children drowned in a pond dug by them.

Zahid, a resident of Nadeem Garden, said in an application to police that his nine-year-old nephew Ali Khan left home to play along with his friends Ismail, 11, Hunzala, 9, and Asad Khan, 10, and heavy rain began to fall.

“We went out in search of children and found a gathering near a brick kiln owned by Rana Sajid and Rana Rauf. Those who had gathered there were raising an alarm on seeing children in the ditch dug by the kiln owners,” he said.

He said the families with the help of area people recovered the children who died on way to hospital.

He alleged that Rauf, Sajid, Aamir (Munshi) and Bagh Ali (mason) were responsible for the death of the children.

Police registered a case against the four people under section 322 of PPC.
