PESHAWAR, July 26: The NWFP government is reported to have decided to raise the monthly stipend of trainee medical officers in the teaching hospitals. “In this connection, a summary has been moved to the chief minister, who will give approval in a few days,” said an official at the health secretariat.

He said a delegation of trainee medical officers would meet the chief minister soon.

The trainees in the Khyber Teaching Hospital, the Lady Reading Hospital and the Hayatabad Medical Complex had recently launched a protest movement against lack of accommodation facilities and low stipend.—Correspondent
