A LARGE high-rise residential project — Rufi Lake Drive — is situated at the heart of Gulistan-i-Jauhar in Block-18, a hub of high-rise apartments in Karachi.
This project is spread over seven-storied 12 blocks having a total of 760 ats and 40 shops. Almost every at and shop has a PTCL connection, while some residents use more than one line.
As such, each block is surrounded by PTCL line wires scattered across the whole area, hanging from top to bottom and crossing electric and gas meters, lifts and water lines.
Such bunches of loose wires are vulnerable and can get damaged. Besides, they give the whole area an ugly look. Several complaints made to the area divisional engineer for sorting out this issue went unheeded.
Top PTCL authorities should take note of this issue and direct officials concerned to manage all wires.
